Big in Japan

Dives 113-114 (24/04/06)

Calm seas led to an offer of a couple of evening dives.  Every day I’m just itching to get into the water and so ould hardly refuse.  And I sure am glad I did…

Comments: Very calm conditions for this dive.  Headed left off the cut and saw plenty of marine life: 2-3 octopuses (or should that be octopii - make a comment and let me know!), some big and small lionfish, and a whole host of sea snakes.  It really was snake central down there, and there were some big ones out too

Comments: Just me & Brian for the 2nd dive of the evening, but boy was it beautiful.  We saw more octopuses (big and small), including one which was moving along the reef wall.  We saw a couple of shrimp swimming above a plant, and maybe a couple of garnde eels too (although I have to confirm that’s what they were).  Plus there were sleeping lionfish, and some very mean looking scorpionfish.  I really wish I’d have taken my camera down for that dive as there was so much to see.

An excellent dive, and easily my most enjoyable night diving experience.
Total dive time (hrs:mins): 77:33
