Big in Japan

I’m a Centurion!

Before I start, wasn’t Centurions an ITV childrens TV series in the 80s?  I vaguely remember having one of the figures which had lots of holes, into which you could attach weapons, or indeed other Centurions.  And I just had to go and check, and it turns out I’m right!  See, my memory does work well on odd occasions.  Right - enough banter - onto business.

Well, where shall we start?

OK - so let’s get started shall we.  Firstly, this blog thing was started due to complete boredom during the school week.  My 3rd year students have graduated, my 2nd years are in Malaysia and Singapore, and the 1st years are not allowed at school due to entrance exams.  This has been a long week of doing absolutely nothing at work. I’ve done diving study, watched diving films (The Big Blue - highly recommended) and just longed for the weekend to come around again.

But today is Friday, which means the weekend and diving is almost upon me.  And the weather is looking excellent, at least for today and tomorrow.  There’s not a cloud in the sky today and the sea looks calm from the webcams.  Am really looking forward to my next dive as it will be number 100 for me - a personal milestone.  Hopefully it’ll be a good one.  Recent dives have been great, seeing octopi, lots of lionfish, a black-tip reef shark and many more things.  I will take my digital camera (Olympus mju 600 with PT-029 underwater housing) diving with me for a 2nd time this weekend too.  Last weekend I was in constant fear of the thing flooding and killing my brand new camera.  A few pics came out pretty well though:

More are on my website at www.soldave.34sp.com.  I’ve nothing else to tell now so I’ll say goodbye to the world and will be back when I have something vaguely interesting to tell.
