Big in Japan

Dives 106-107 (21/03/06)

Tuesday was the Vernal Equinox, and a public holiday in Japan.  So I took the time to go diving in the Keramas.  Here are my dive logs…

Dive Number: 106
Location: Tokashiki (san tran)
Time in: 10:36
Time out: 11:30
Bottom time: 54 mins
Max depth: 22.4m
Average depth: 13.3m
Weight: 12 lbs
Exposure protection: 5mm wetsuit, gloves, booties
Type of diving: Saltwater, boat
Temperature: Air - 22C, water - 21.1C
Visibility: 13m
Dive buddies: Heather
Comments: First dive with my repaired dive computer, and it survived the dive, so I’m pleased.  I did take another computer, just as backup and to compare readings, but both were spot on.  The dive itself was with Heather and was very pleasant.  Surprisingly though, a fair amount of the coral appeared bleached and /or dead.  Slightly disappointing but plenty of fish were out and it was still a compelling dive

Total dive time (hrs:mins): 72:00

Comments: A better dive on the whole, although buyoancy seemed to be a little issue.  Not a major problem but seemed slightly touchy.  Lots of fish we4re out and about, including some very playful anemonefish.  Hopefully the photos I took came out well.

Total dive time (hrs:mins): 72:51
