Dives 100-103 (11/03/06)
OK - not sure of how this will work, but I intend to start giving full details on my blog of the dives that I can do. Hopefully this can be used in the future to show my diving experience. Again, if you want to see more information, post a comment and I’ll add the details accordingly. So without further delay, I’ll get started. And what better way to start than with dive 100…

Comments: Well, dive 100 and it was a pretty good dive too. I led 2 students on a nitrox dive while Brian did a deep dive with another student. Only my 2nd dive at ARK Dive and it’s a very nice and underrated site. Headed right and saw plenty of health coral.

Comments: Dive 2 of the day, and in beautiful calm conditions with the sun overhead. All the class was together as we did a relaxed, multi-level dive. Headed left on the reef and again was surprised at the good visibility & marine life in this area. Everyone thinks it’s not a good dive just because it’s an easy one, and that’s definately not the case.

Comments: Don’t know what happened during the surface interval, but visibility dropped significantly. It wasn’t dangerous in any was but was certainly a shock once we got down there. Took a couple of decent pics, including one of a puffed up blowfish. Really wasn’t the conditions for breathtaking photography though.

Dive Number: 103
Location: Sunabe (one-way from Fab Curry to ARK Dive)
Time in: 16:18
Time out: 16:59
Bottom time: 41 mins
Max depth: 17m
Average depth: 12m
Weight: 12 lbs
Exposure protection: 5mm wetsuit, gloves, booties
Type of diving: Saltwater, shore
Temperature: Air - 20C, water - 21C
Visibility: 4m
Dive buddies: Lindsey
Comments: For all intents and purposes this was a limited visibility dive, and was easily the worst vis that I’ve dived in. The water had an eeire yellow tint to it too, which made it even stranger. Constant buddy and instrument checks were required and carried out by us both. I found the exit point easily, and was pretty relieved to see it. I definately think my navigation skills are getting better in the water.
